Whew, it's stinky in here. Brent and I are finishing some of the weekend's wood projects. At class on Saturday, we finished the lidded boxes we started last week. Both of ours have very nice fitting lids. Ok, mine's a little tight, but tight is better than too loose!. Then I made a tiny box yesterday afternoon, and this morning before spinning group, I made a small walnut bowl out of a 4" square block of wood.

We got a band saw on Friday at an estate sale in Florissant, and I got to use it today on the walnut blank. it works great so far.

I think we're going to sign up for the next session of classes at the craft alliance also, since Bernhard has told us that he'll teach us all about sharpening then, and he keeps coming up with really cool projects for us in class. Next up, we're doing undercut shaped bowls (where the hole in the top is smaller than the bowl, so you have to cut under the lip). Brent has a big chunk of cherry for his bowl, and I have a huge piece of elm. And he's mentioned teaching us to make an oval platter (off center turning!). One other reason we're thinking the cost of the class is worth it, is that we get all the wood in class as part of the class fee, and he gives us a lot of nice large pieces.

Today I braved the cold and snow for my spinning group at Knitorious. Not many people came, but it was still fun. I thought Brent was going to be at an organ recital but he didn't brave it because the truck doesn't handle well in snow.

Now I need to think of something to have for dinner. Sigh.
