Possible TMI

If girl things scare you away, then

I went out to Sunset Hills to see a new Dr today. She was impressed at how much IUD research I had done and said she had no problems giving me one! They've ordered me a Mirena and will let me know when it comes in so we can schedule insertion for my next period. I called my insurance company and it's all covered as part of the office visit copay.

5 years of no babies (and very possibly no periods) for $15. $30 if you count the copay for the consultation office visit.

So you really don't want to have kids? I didn't realize it was a five year thing.

No, I really don't want kids. But the thing about this is that it can be removed at any time if I ever changed my mind. There's a slightly increased chance of PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) if you have an IUD and have multiple partners or partners with STDs, and PID can cause infertility. So this Dr. had said she would only insert if I didn't want kids, just because of that extra risk.

The other kind (Paragard) is for 10 years, but it doesn't decrease your period like this one does. I'm all about very light to nonexistant periods.
