The finished sweater

Ok, so if I were to make this again, here are the things I would change:
1. Make the sleeves shorter. 19 inches is too long for me.
2. Continue the sleeve cable up higher onto the start of the hood.
3. Make the yoke a few rows longer so the neck will be a little higher.
4. Continue the cable detail up a few more inches from the bottom. I think it would look nice, plus it has the benefit of being more interesting than just plain stockinette so I won't go mad with boredom.
Overall, I'm in love with it. It's so cozy and soft and warm. I've worn it nearly nonstop since I finished putting the zipper in.

Date: 2006-02-27 03:23 am (UTC)I just wove in the ends on my sock. I really need to improve my kitchener for sure. I'll try to post pics in the next day or so. Though my sock pales a great deal in the face of your beautiful sweater. =)

Date: 2006-02-27 03:28 am (UTC)My kitchener needs improving too, but I did a ton of it on the hood of this jacket (instead of seaming) so I got some practice at least. I have to concentrate on it so much to do it, so it's not among my favorite things.
I have in the past knitted or crocheted things that I ended up not liking, so I'm extremely happy this fits well and looks good. Even though there are things I'd change, none of them are going to irritate me so much I won't wear it.
I know you said you had yarn stashed away for a Mariah, so if you do it, be sure to email Jodi, the designer, and get the errata. She said she sent them in to Knitty but they haven't gotten the site updated. I got them in time to use the updated hood shaping and I think it worked really well. I wish I had emailed her before I did the yoke though...I would have known to make it a little longer. Oh well.
