So I've started making this sweater. It's in a lovely blue shetland aran (wool/alpaca blend). I started it last weekend and I've got the two sleeves done and a few inches of the body.

I just took the body off the needles and tried it on. It's going to be just perfect. Body-hugging but not tight at all. I can't wait to finish it.

The yarn (color is pretty accurate. maybe slightly lighter in the photo than in real life)

The sleeves (one cable is slightly messed up. Oh well).

The body. Here you can see I've already knit the kangroo pocket in front and will attach it to the body at the top when I get enough body rows done.

Here's the cable detail on the sides of the body. It starts wide at the bottom and narrows at the waist, then gets wide again at the bust area. It's pretty subtle since it's all on the side seams, but very nice I think.

I love it! Hoodies are so comfy, but that one looks dressy and flattering too! :)

OMG!!! That is freakin' beautiful! (Did you take knitting lessons to get that good)? And, I got the hang of "purling"...now I need to work on tension ! Carrie, your talent and creativity just blows me away :)

Thanks! I haven't really taken any lessons. Just doing it a lot really helps. My biggest issue most of the time is reading the directions closely :\. All my mistakes in this one are because I skimmed instead of reading. Bad carrie.

As far as tension I'm sure you've tried wrapping the yarn around your pinkie? That can help. I don't wrap it around anything and I get kinda loose stitches, but I compensate by using smaller needles and it works out ok. You'll find something that works for you :)

That sweater will be gorgeous Carrie! Strong work! It makes me want to switch from crochet to knitting (one of these days).

Thanks Steph! I'd be surprised if you have much time for either crochet or knitting these days! Hope things are well with you, Aneesh, and Ajay.
