Combination 1: Is it OK to put a striped shirt with a bowtie that has circles on it? Not sure on that, but I like the colors.

Combination 2: It looks a little washed out here and I can't get the color adjustment to work. Think slightly more saturated and vibrant.

Well, I really like the first shirt--but I really really like the second combination. So happy and peppy!!

I'm Kris. I know you from [livejournal.com profile] knitting_snark, where most of your snarks make me smile--then grateful that someone else is reading [livejournal.com profile] knitting for me! :)

Both are fine. When you throw a bowtie into the mix, everything changes.

I think it can be hard to go with a bowtie without ending up looking like a dorky math professor. At least this place had some really nice bowties to pick from.

I'm a fan of light plaid patterns like this (http://tinyurl.com/s8ubn), but my gut says that could never work with a bowtie. What do you think?

I don't think a very hip print bowtie looks dorky nearly so much as it says, "Dude. I'm a smart ass. But I'm really fucking funny."

I don't see why you couldn't put it with the large windowpane check. You'd put it with a Tattersall, wouldn't you?

As far as I'm concerned, if it's got a collar, it can go with a bowtie.

I like the contrast between the darker shirt and the lighter tie.

Hmmm...I like them both, but I think I like the contrast of the first one better. The stripes are subtle enough that it works. :)

The first for an evening or more somber event, the second for a daytime or happier event.

That said, I like stripes and polka dots. Mixing patterns is a good idea as long as the colour families are the same, and the pattern sizes are greatly contrasted or similar in size. (Yeah, that helped narrow it down, huh?)

Well I liked the first one when I saw it. But then I aw the second one and absolutely love that one.

Want to touch the pretty shirt.

I like the bottom one.

second one is a bit too bright for me, but that's how i am. i think the subtlety of the striping in the first one makes the circles go fine with it.
